How the taxi estimate works

A standard Seoul taxi charges 4,800 KRW for the first 1.6 km, then 100 KRW for each 131 m, and the same rate by time when moving slowly. From 22:00 to 04:00 a surcharge of 20% applies (40% from 23:00 to 02:00), and leaving the city boundary adds 20%; the two can combine up to 60%. The calculator uses the distance you enter at the standard day rate, so it is the lower bound. Expressway and bridge tolls are paid by the passenger on top of the meter.

Gimpo Airport

From Gimpo, the Airport Railroad and subway lines 5 and 9 reach the centre at ordinary transit fares starting at 1,550 KRW, which makes them far cheaper than any other option.
